As long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by the world. I never lost my childlike sense of wonder—there is so much to explore and discover. However, I can’t just sit in fascination; I feel the need to respond to the incredible world around me, using what I’ve learned to create something meaningful. This drive led me to design.

Design provides a framework for me to shape fleeting ideas and disparate knowledge into something tangible. It places me in dialogue with myself, my ideas, and others, creating an open, generative, and iterative feedback loop that helps me refine and understand my thinking. Ultimately, design gives purpose and unity to my natural desire to create and love. It allows me to solve problems, seize opportunities, and, most importantly, help people become more joyful. At its core, design is about people, and its goal is to maximize joy and goodness.
