I believe design is not just about creating something visually appealing—it's about using creativity to drive change. Design has the power to shape how people interact with the world, challenge existing perspectives, and create spaces that foster connection, understanding, and inclusivity. To me, design is both a tool and a responsibility. It’s a way to address problems, elevate experiences, and leave a positive impact on the people it touches. I want my designs to invite people in, to help them feel seen and heard, and to create moments of joy or reflection.

At the core of my practice is the belief that design can be a catalyst for transformation. Whether it's through crafting a brand that speaks to its audience or creating an experience that shifts the way people think, my goal is to use design to spark change. I strive to combine structure with creativity, ensuring that my work not only looks good but serves a greater purpose. By staying grounded in my faith and values, I hope to create work that resonates on a deeper level and contributes to making the world a more thoughtful, inclusive place.

Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?

I would tell myself to embrace the journey and trust that growth comes through experimentation and learning from mistakes. That perfection isn’t the goal, but rather staying curious, being patient, and evolving as a designer is what truly matters.

What's your favorite A+D memory?

One of my favorite A+D memories was during freshman year in foundations, when a group of us were in the studio, finishing our wearable sculptures. I remember feeling a strong sense of connection and comfort as we laughed, helped one another, and worked together in collaboration and community.

What moment, project, and/or critique in your Art + Design career at AU has been pivotal to who you are as an artist or creator?

One pivotal moment in my Art + Design career at AU was working on apps and websites in Production 2. I remember the realization I had as I began to understand how much the little details influence the user. Every detail, whether noticed or not, helps guide the user through a piece. I've also come to understand that this principle applies to every aspect of art and design.

How do you hope your work makes an impact?

I hope my work makes an impact by fostering connection, sparking positive change, and creating meaningful, inclusive experiences that resonate with others.
