Hello! My name is Lindsay Duncan, but within my design cohort, I’m affectionately known as Dunx. I’m an interdisciplinary designer with a passion for branding, painting, and drawing. As a creative, boredom is a rarity in my life—I thrive in the joy of making and find endless inspiration in the beauty of ordinary life.

When I’m not immersed in my studies, you’ll often find me at a cozy coffee shop, laughing with friends, diving into a good book, or exploring an eclectic mix of music. In my spare time, I indulge my curiosity by crafting, strolling through new places, and diving deep into fascinating, niche corners of the internet

Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?

Looking back, I would tell myself to have more grace with myself. Have confidence in your work and trust that this is exactly where you're supposed to be.

What's your favorite A+D memory?

My favorite A&D memory is Prof Nelsen bringing in homemade scones & Celsius to studio in Photo I. Ask him about why I was not allowed to have Celsius in his class after that studio...

What was your favorite A+D class?

History of Graphic Design!

What moment, project, and/or critique in your Art + Design career at AU has been pivotal to who you are as an artist or creator?

My most pivotal moment in my academic career was a conversation I had with Professor Benson after I had been through a difficult season that would change life as I knew it, forever. Benson told me that I was capable and he was there to support me in every step of my journey. That conversation was pivotal for my growth as an artist.

What's next for you?

I don't know for certain what is next for me just yet!

How do you hope your work makes an impact?

I hope my work influences people to see the beauty in everyday life. To cling to the fleeting moments and find the joy of life. We aren't guaranteed tomorrow, be present with the people around you and be the light of Christ.
