I am a designer and maker who creates purposeful, ethical work grounded in craftsmanship. My hands-on approach allows me to forge a deeper connection with the materials I use, ensuring that each piece is carefully considered and thoughtfully crafted. Whether through branding, illustration, or physical objects, my goal is to design work that is not only visually compelling but also meaningful and enduring.
I believe design has the power to help people express themselves or meet needs they didn’t even know they had. At the core of my practice is a commitment to balancing form with function—crafting solutions that are both beautiful and practical. Ultimately, I aim to create work that resonates with others, enriching their experience and adding lasting value to their lives.
Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?
I’d remind myself to be patient and gentle with my expectations, understanding that the most meaningful designs often emerge through exploration, learning from mistakes, and staying open to the unexpected.
What's your favorite A+D memory?
I have many memories of late nights in the studio with friends—sleep deprived but somehow full of energy. It felt like I had truly come into a special community. Faculty members were always there, offering advice, answering questions, or just being a friend when I needed one. Their support, combined with those moments of collaboration, helped me find confidence in myself and my work.
What was your favorite A+D class?
This is hard, but I would have to say my favorite A+D class was The History of Graphic Design. It opened my eyes to the profound impact design has on the world—how the choices we make as designers can shape culture, influence perception, and drive change. I realized the power we hold, not just to create beauty or solve problems, but to impact society in meaningful ways, for better or worse. That class deepened my understanding of design’s potential and made me even more committed to using my work for good, with intention and awareness of its broader implications.
What moment, project, and/or critique in your Art + Design career at AU has been pivotal to who you are as an artist or creator?
I had many moments during my Junior year where everything started to click, and I knew I had found my place.
What's next for you?
While I’m not sure exactly what "next" will look like yet, I’m excited about exploring the freedom to create work that truly speaks to people and serves a greater purpose. I’m open to where this path leads, but I’m focused on finding opportunities to grow, collaborate, and also create on my own terms.
How do you hope your work makes an impact?
I hope my work makes an impact by fostering deeper connections between people and the things they engage with—whether through design that enhances their experience or objects that carry meaning and purpose.
